A really nice compilation from Sony Music Indonesia. This great album is the next series of Jazzy Tunes, this time emphasizing on Love, as the album was released on valentine’s day. Sweet romantic songs that you might have listened or even loved around the 80s.. surprisingly, the songs dont sound old fashioned and still enjoyable just like new entries. The selection are great too. You’ll love this compilation and definately will stay in your playlist for a very long time. very recommended.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow actually has another “secret” talent besides her tremendous career in Hollywood. She can actualy sing just like a pro. These 4 songs just proved her as a great singer. The first song, What Is This Thing Called Love was from Infamous OST, in swing jazz style. For the rest were from Duets OST. Hopefully she’ll release an album someday.

Toshi Kubota – For Real

Toshi Kubota (KUBOTA Toshinobu, 久保田利伸) is the pioneer of soul in Japanese music scene. He has started his career from 1986 and still active until now. He’s been in many different genres, like soulful RnB, hiphp, pop, reggae and acid jazz.

This album is his latest from 2006. A cool album, mostly groovy n funky with thick soul factor. There are some smooth jazz taste, groovy RnB even nice funky acid jazzy. I really recommend this one, especially for those who like the blend between soul, RnB, hiphop and jazz.

Shelby Lynne – Just A Little Lovin’

It’s a risky move for any singer to attempt a direct ascent on the towering peaks of Dusty Springfield’s evergreen legacy. (Rolling Stone once called Dusty in Memphis the third most “essential” rock album by a woman.) Just a Little Lovin’ achieves the unlikely: a tribute to an immortal artist which both glorifies its subject and elevates the worshipper kneeling at her altar. Lynne’s 2001 breakthrough, I Am Shelby Lynne, was both utterly fresh and nostalgically infused with a Memphis-like spirit. Much of Just a Little Lovin’ is as familiar as an old pair of shoes. Lynne’s original contribution, “Pretend,” fits snugly between the classics, but it’s the loose, practically improvised vibe of this recording that breathes new life into Bacharach and David’s “Anyone Who Had a Heart” and, especially, Randy Newman’s “I Don’t Want to Hear It Anymore.” Genius producer Phil Ramone lends the entire collection the kind of intimacy he brought to Paul Simon and Billy Joel’s most atmospheric 1970s recordings. Restrained instrumentation–often simply guitar, upright bass, a sprinkling of piano, and light percussion–turn even the teenage bubble-gum anthem “I Only Want to Be with You” into a sultry meditation. Leon Haines Band – I Wanna See You Now (RARE)

A great group that was gone too soon. Let’s go back to 1980. Leon Haines, one of the personnel of Rainbow formed his own band. Leon Haines Band was the name. This dutch band gained their popularity through 2 classic ballads, I Wanna See You Now and For You To Remember. For jazz lovers, another one song of them, Another Clown was a hit too. Leon Haines Band was a band that combined pop jazzy style with a little bit of rock like Rainbow did. It’s really enjoyable, vintage and…. very rare! it’s even almost impossible to find infos about them, or the album.

This is the only album of Leon Haines Band, that broke up too soon, only a year after. CD Rip, 192 kbps. enjoy guys!

Rah Band (2 albums + 1 best of)

Rah Band should sound familiar for those who has listened to music around 80s. Even if you forget the name, think of Clouds Across The Moon, their megahits that raised their career right away. This song was a big radio hits, and still appearing on radios until now. Or Sam the Samba Man, the song that was really popular on its heyday, and now became a rare stuff that really hard to find. They offered jazz dance/disco, a form that became the beginning of acid jazz. Their songs are just easy to listen, and would be perfect for you who like 80s music. Gino Vanelli – These Are The Days

Like an amazing wine, some things just age with grace and impeccable class and such is the case with Gino Vanelli. This time around, the Canadian offers up seven new compositions that are natural extensions of where he left off in 1998’s Slow Love. The seven new songs are focused but relaxed, with his aim clearly at the die hard fans of his trademark adultcontemporary/jazz hybrid. But it’s the seven tracks that make up the second half of “These Are The Days” that are a real treat. Digitally remastered for amazing clarity, Vanelli personally oversaw the reconstruction of seven of his most well known tunes, including the US chart hits “I Just Wanna Stop” and “Living Inside Myself”.
